To whom we give credit

"We give credit to human wisdom, when we should give credit to the Divine guidance of God through childlike people who were foolish enough to trust God's wisdom and the supernatural equipment of God." - Oswald Chambers

What a humbling thought to bring me back to reality. Everything I am, do and will be is because of God and his guidance and wisdom. Praise Him in taking my nothingness and working it out for His glory!

The Things You See Out Here

While sitting in the waiting room at the doctor's office this afternoon I observed a woman across from me using the time to catch up on rolling her cigarettes...In the doctors office!!! COME ON!! Pretty sure this is abnormal for most parts of the country...but not in Pahrump.

Welcome to Pahrump!

So I've been threatened again and thus commences a new post. I actually was just thinking this weekend that I should post or I would start to get threats and lo and behold one was awaiting me this morning.
Well I've officially been in Pahrump, Nevada for a little over a month now. For those of you who are not familiar with middle of nowhere Nevada, Pahrump is it. We are about an hour out of Las Vegas and contrary to popular belief we do have running water...hey we even have a Wal-Mart...and at least 3 casinos.
Stacy...why are you in Nevada you may ask. To teach of course! I am one of five 5th grade teachers at Hafen Elementary School. Currently I have 18 students, but that changes on a daily basis sometimes, heck today it changed on an hourly basis.
I am really enjoying my time out here. I was a little nervous about being on my own, but it's kinda fun. I'm getting to know some of my co-workers, Lori and Angela thanks for taking me under your wings! I haven't been to Vegas much, but I plan on spending more time there on weekends as I'm hoping to get involved in a church there.
